My name is Mikala. I fell in love with birth and doula work well over 9 years ago. I love to serve families with their pregnancy & beyond journeys. With my birthkeeper services, you can trust that you are in safe hands. I'll be by your side throughout; providing educational, physical, & emotional support. Having the support of a birthkeeper (doula) has a wonderfully positive impact on the labor process. Our purpose is to help expecting mothers have a safe, memorable, and empowering birthing experience. We are professionally trained in childbirth and provide emotional, physical, spiritual, and educational support for expecting and laboring mothers. We support you with our whole hearts and completely respect your wishes through your labor experience. We want you to walk away feeling empowered, confident, and nurtured.
Care For The Mother
As your doula ( birthkeeper ), we strive to be your most trusted resource and support system. We provide unbiased information and personalized nurturing care to prepare you for your birth. We provide one-on-one care in your own space. We will be there for you whenever you need us.

Supporting Pregnancy & Beyond
As you navigate your pregnancy we are here to answer any questions you have. We are available anytime via email, text, or phone support.
We are professionally trained to help with various pain-relieving comfort measures. This will involve breathing techniques, massage, and various laboring and birthing positions.
During Labor, we will be in constant close proximity to you and provide vigilant support. You will be our only focus, we are dedicated to supporting you.
As situations and needs for decision making come up we will help you navigate your choices. We will provide objective fact based information to help guide you.
Being mothers ourselves, we have been where you are. We believe in you. We will support you wholeheartedly as we are passionate about helping you feel secure and in-tune with your birthing experience. We are dedicated to being your advocate for you and your family.

My first birth was a somewhat traumatic experience but nothing compared to my second. I don't feel I could have mentally or physically gotten through it without the support of Mikala. 36 hours of labor in all and for the majority of it she sat and talked to me like an old friend ,made me laugh and respected every decision I wanted to make. she tirelessly offered Hands-On support during every contraction and it felt like she was laboring with me. She remained professional and so empathetic during the whole process. You can tell she has devoted her heart to servicing women during one of the most challenging times of change in life. From my first inquiry with her I could tell she is someone I wanted in my corner. I want to add that the special touches she provides ( homemade tea, body moisturizer, homemade meal etc.) are extra comforts and so appreciated !! I am most likely done having children but if my partner and I decide on another I will definitely hire Mikala again
